Birthday: Director Anurag Kashyap is considered the king of dark films

Anurag was born on 10 September 1972 in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Anurag did his studies in Dehradun and Gwalior. After which he came to Delhi and joined theatre here.

- Anurag was very fond of watching movies since childhood, but later he lost this hobby. Later, Anurag developed a desire to make films and he left everything and came to Mumbai in 1993.

- When Anurag came to Mumbai in search of work, he had only 5 to 6 thousand rupees in his pocket. Now it was very difficult to survive in a city like Mumbai. When Anurag ran out of money, he had to sleep on the streets. Then he got work at Prithvi Theater.

Anurag Kashyap had revealed in an interview that he was a victim of sexual abuse in childhood. According to Anurag- I was abused for about 11 years. The person who sexually abused me was 22 years old.

Anurag did not want to become a director

Anurag Kashyap said that I met that person after many years. He regretted his mistake. Anurag also said that he never wanted to become a director. He was preparing for UPSC.

- Anurag Kashyap was first married to Aarti Bajaj but they got divorced in 2009. Later he married actress Kalki Koechlin. However, after two years, Anurag got divorced from Kalki as well. Anurag has a daughter from his first wife whose name is Aaliya Kashyap.

Anurag Kashyap has many big films to his credit today. Such as Black Friday (2007), Dev D (2009), Gulaal (2009), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), Bombay Talkies (2013), Ugly (2014), Bombay Velvet (2015), Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016).

- Everyone knows about Anurag Kashyap that he has done great work not only on the big screen but also for short films. 'Chhuri', 'Karta', 'Murabba', 'Tubelight Ka Chand' and 'The Joy of Giving' are Anurag's memorable short films.
