In a recent interview, Arav spoke about his character, his experience working again with Swastik Productions, and the challenges he faced. Here’s what he had to say.

Arav Chowdharry, known for his remarkable work in the entertainment industry, is all set to appear in the new Sony SAB show “Veer Hanuman”, where he portrays the role of Kesari, Lord Hanuman's father. In a recent interview with Mayapuri journalist Shilpa Patil, Arav shared insights about his role, working again with Swastik Productions, and the challenges of the role.

What would you like to say about Veer Hanuman and your character? What makes this show special for you, especially considering you’re working with Swastik Productions again?

“Veer Hanuman” is very special to me because I am a huge devotee of Lord Hanuman in real life. Getting the opportunity to play the father of Lord Hanuman, Kesari, is truly a privilege. I’ve worked with Swastik Productions before on two shows, including Ramayan, so I know them well. The show has been written beautifully, and it has been shot in great locations. I’m thoroughly enjoying working on it.

You’re working with Swastik Productions again, especially with Siddharth Kumar Tiwari, the founder of the production house. His previous show Ramayan was quite popular. How do you think people will respond to Veer Hanuman?

We’ve shot this show on a massive scale. You can say it’s even bigger than Ramayan. When we launched the trailer in Ujjain, we did a drone show, which was spectacular. The entire shoot has been done on a grand level, which is why the promo has already been received so well by the audience.

How much preparation did you have to do for the role of Kesari? Did you face any challenges while portraying this character?

When I decided to take on the role of Kesari, the first challenge I faced was the physical transformation. If I have enough time, I try to understand how the character moves and behaves. For Kesari and Maharaj Dashrath in Ramayan, the physicality was very different. To look strong and powerful for Kesari, I gained 10 kilograms over three months. When you compare Maharaj Dashrath’s and Kesari’s physique, you can clearly see the difference. As for challenges, I didn’t face any major issues, but with Maharaj Dashrath, I had to appear lean because he was anxious for his son, while Kesari needed to look powerful. The physicalities of the two characters are distinct.

You’ve worked again with Swastik Productions. How has your experience been with them?

I’ve been associated with Siddharth Kumar Tiwari since Mahabharat, where he gave me the role of Bhishma Pitamah, which was well-loved by the audience. After that, I worked on Ramayan. He always gives me wonderful characters, and I put my heart and soul into each one. I have a unique approach when it comes to playing characters: once I finish a role, I forget about it, and I always consider each character I play to be my first, giving it my all every time.

What message would you like to give to your viewers?

I would like to thank my viewers for the love they have always given me, whether it was in Telugu cinema or on television. I’ve put in a lot of effort into this show and character, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did working on it.

Veer Hanuman, produced by Swastik Productions, will premiere on March 11th at 7:30 PM on Sony SAB.
