Famous on digital platforms and TV as Chinki-Minki, Samriddhi Mehra will soon appear in Zee TV’s new reality showChhoriyan Chali Gaon’, alongside her sister Surabhi Mehra. In a recent exclusive chat with Mayapuri journalist Shilpa Patil, Samriddhi spoke openly about her journey, preparations, show strategies, and the love from fans. Here’s what she shared...

Why did you say yes to ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’?

Because this show is something different. When the offer came to us, we looked at each other and instantly said — “We’re doing this!” It’s not just about drama and fights, it’s a journey that teaches a lot. It’s about hard work, connection, and getting a real taste of India.

Did you prepare or plan anything for the show?

To be honest, I’m totally unprepared for how I’ll live there — what I’ll eat, how I’ll cook... I have no clue! All I know is we’ll have to do everything ourselves. If it were a typical reality show, we might have had an idea. But here? No clue at all.

You said planning won’t help — so what kind of preparation did you do?

Oh, there’s been a lot of prep — I’ve even tagged every outfit with which shoes, eyeshadow, lip shade go with it! But village life is unpredictable. There won’t be any makeup artist there. Also, we’ve secretly planned how we’ll fool people and play smartly.

How was your first interaction with the other contestants?

We met a few days back but didn’t get much time to talk. Everyone has a different vibe — someone is from a city, someone from a village, some struggle with Hindi, some are very outspoken. But that’s the beauty — different people coming together. I hope to learn something from each of them.

If there are clashes on the show, how will you handle them?

I’m a peace-loving person. Even if someone behaves badly with me, I won’t change my nature. I’ll stick to my vibe. I will call out what’s wrong — but without shouting. I believe everyone stays true to who they are — I just have to manage myself.

There were rumours on social media that you two are separating. What do you want to say about that?

Everyone misunderstood the post. All I want to say is — we’re together and always will be! That post was just to show the format of the show, that we’ll be competing separately. But the Chinki-Minki duo isn’t going anywhere. Even after this show, we’ll work together.

How tough is it to stay synchronized as twin sisters who look and talk alike?

It’s very tough! If I eat one roti, she eats one too. If I blink, she does too. If I say a line, we both repeat it with perfect timing. It takes a lot of practice. We rehearsed for months just to deliver two dialogues in sync. It’s not easy at all.

What message would you like to give your fans?

You all have given us so much love as a pair. Now I hope you’ll shower that love on us individually, too. ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’ will be full of fun, challenges, and confusion. So, stay connected with us and keep supporting our journey.
