How is the mother–daughter relationship portrayed in ‘Seher Hone Ko Hai’?

Rishita: Seher is a girl full of dreams. She wants to become a doctor and also wants to give her mother a better life. The mother–daughter bond is so beautiful that viewers will instantly connect with it.
Mahi Vij: This story is very emotional and deeply touching. It shows the strong journey of a mother and daughter. Many mothers will relate to this character. Many times, it feels like this is our own story. Nothing has been exaggerated—we’ve kept everything very real. Our bonding is so strong that the audience will automatically feel connected to this relationship.

How does it feel to return to Colors TV?

Mahi Vij: Colors was the first channel I ever worked with, so my bond with it has always been special. Returning after about eight years felt like coming back home. I’m extremely excited about this comeback.

How challenging was it to play a strong character like Kausar?

Mahi: I have mostly played calm and simple characters, but Kausar is a very strong woman. In real life too, I am strong, so I can relate to her. It feels like only the name has changed, the personality is the same.

The show also carries a message about education and women empowerment. What are your thoughts?

Mahi: Never differentiate between boys and girls. Being a daughter is a blessing in today’s time. Don’t crush their dreams—let them grow. Education makes them strong, not spoiled.

How challenging is it to balance work and personal life as a mother?

Mahi: Yes, sometimes I feel guilty that I can’t spend enough time with my kids because of work. But then I remind myself that everything I’m doing is for their better future. I want to give my children a safe and beautiful life with good opportunities. Managing both—home and work—is not easy. At times, it becomes emotionally tough, there’s pressure, and a constant struggle. But despite all this, I feel blessed and grateful that I get to do the work I love. Challenges are part of the journey, but my work makes me stronger, and my children inspire me every single day.

This is your debut show. How was it working with Mahi?

Rishita: It’s been a very special experience for me. Mahi is like a protector on set. She has created a warm and comfortable environment for me. She is like an elder sister—guiding, supporting, and encouraging me. I truly feel blessed and fortunate that I’m making my debut with her.

What are your expectations from the audience?

Mahi: I hope viewers connect with the emotional story, the mother–daughter relationship, and our natural performances.
Rishita: We both have worked with complete sincerity. I hope the audience showers lots of love on ‘Seher’.
