Saru: Mohak Matkar Shares Her Makeup Secrets in Rapid Fire, Says – “I Cheat in Makeup”

Mohak Matkar, currently seen as Saru in Zee TV’s popular serial Saru, recently had a special interaction with Mayapuri journalist Shilpa Patil. During the conversation, Mohak opened up about her simple yet effective makeup routine. She shared that she prefers doing her own makeup and spoke about the products she likes using. Here’s what she revealed during a fun rapid-fire session.

What is your daily makeup routine?

I cheat a lot when it comes to makeup because I don’t like applying too much on my face. I also tend to get reactions from heavy makeup. So, I skip foundation or base completely. I directly apply sunscreen, moisturizer, powder, blush, eyeshadow, liner, and lip balm. That’s it—my makeup ends there. Foundation makes my face feel heavy and sweaty, so I avoid it.

Kajal or Liner – What’s your pick?
Liner, definitely. Kajal smudges quickly. Applying liner on top makes the eyes look fuller and more beautiful. If you create a cat-eye, it gives a smiley effect to the eyes and adds a positive vibe.

Lip Balm or Lip Tint?
Lip balm. Nowadays, no one can live without it. No one likes dry lips. I often use products like Vaseline or Himalaya to keep my lips hydrated.

Blush or Highlighter?
Blush, especially pink shades. I prefer powder blush. I don’t like liquid or tint because I live in a humid environment and sweat a lot. Powder blush feels light and natural.

Compact Powder or Loose Powder?
Loose powder. It sets the makeup well. However, it also depends on the brand and formulation. Some brands make loose powder feel like compact, so it really depends on usage.

Open Hair or Tied Hair?
Tied hair. I am very physically active, so it’s difficult to manage open hair. I feel more comfortable tying my hair, no matter how much I sweat.

Heels or Flats?
Flats. Though I’m thinking of trying heels because they look aesthetic. But while walking, I find flats much more comfortable.

How do you keep yourself hydrated?
I always carry two water bottles with me—one tumbler and one copper bottle. Our director ma’am gives everyone lemon water, and the spot staff also keeps offering buttermilk or lemon water. The show and my team take great care of me. I keep drinking water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
