After spending weeks in the Bigg Boss 19 house, making viewers laugh, react, and stay hooked, Shehbaz Badesha is now speaking candidly about his game and experience. As soon as he stepped out of the house, he spoke to the media, recalling his journey and revealing that he presented a new version of himself this season. In his interview, Shehbaz openly discussed relationships, contestants’ behaviour, his image, criticism, body-shaming and friendships formed inside the house. Here’s what he said…
People had high expectations of you before your entry. Many were disappointed with your journey—what do you want to say about that?
If someone is disappointed, I would simply say—sorry. But I didn’t enter the show to win; I went there to entertain. I was very clear that I wanted to make people laugh. And making people laugh is not easy. My journey was exactly like my personality—full of life, humorous, and completely unfiltered.

Who do you think deserves to win the show and why?
For me, the winner is only Amaal. And not just because he’s my friend. When Amaal was outside the house, he had anger issues; people even said he was like "Kabir Singh". But the moment he entered the Bigg Boss house, his entire personality changed—his anger reduced, he became more composed, and after his father’s visit, he completely stopped using abusive language. That is the quality of a true winner—someone who evolves and becomes better. Whoever improves themselves is deserving of victory.

If for some reason Amaal doesn’t win, who would you want to see as the winner?
Honestly? Then I won’t watch Bigg Boss. For me, the definition of a winner begins and ends with Amaal.

You also mentioned that Gaurav Khanna (GK) is “winner material”. Why?
GK has worked really hard to reach this point. He survived nominations multiple times. No one can question his capability. Even though Amaal remains my winner, I believe Gaurav Khanna GK has played an incredibly strong game. Whether he wins or not, his journey has been successful.

Many people called you “Amaal’s chamcha (sidekick)”. What do you say to that criticism?
What people say doesn’t bother me. If they call me a chamcha, I say—why chamcha? I can be a fork too! I supported my friend because that’s what friendship means, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my own mind. I played my own game and maintained my bond too.

Your father visited you on the show, but you didn’t seem very happy. Why?
Honestly—I was expecting my sister Shehnaaz Gill. My father and I are very similar—both of us speak without thinking. I was worried he might say something that gets blown out of proportion later, because in Bigg Boss, even small things become big controversies. But yes, his visit was emotional. Still, I wanted Shehnaaz because she has lived in that house and could have guided me better.

You were body-shamed inside the house. Why didn’t you ever take a stand?
It doesn’t affect me—because I body-shame myself! I’ve never been serious about my physique. I am happy with who I am. But yes, when someone body-shames a girl, that bothers me.

Because of your entertaining image, people often don’t take you seriously—does that trouble you?
Not at all. I know my strength—making people laugh. And that’s not easy. Those who underestimate me simply don’t understand my vibe. Bigg Boss gave me a platform to present my real self, and the love people are giving me is the biggest award.
We all saw how Ashnoor Kaur hit Tanya Mittal. What do you want to say about that?
Ashnoor was unable to accept her loss, which is why she hit Tanya. And as far as taking a stand is concerned—if the one who got hurt didn’t react, then why would I say more?

Your friendship with Amaal Malik seemed strained at times. Did something actually break?
Every friendship goes through ups and downs. Yes, there were a few misunderstandings, but we didn’t let them grow. Our bond is strong and will remain strong. A little friction only adds sweetness to friendship.

What’s your secret—why do you laugh at everything?
Because life is given only once. People can make you cry, but learning to laugh is something you must do yourself. That’s exactly what I do—smile in every situation and spread joy around me.

Is there anyone from the house you don’t want to meet outside?
Yes, four people—Tanya, Farhana, Ashnoor and Abhishek Bajaj. My vibe doesn’t match with them. They’re arrogant, and I don’t like people who think too highly of themselves. I prefer people who are grounded.
