Soma Rathod Returns to TV with Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak in Key Role

Soma Rathod, celebrated for her strong acting and ability to win hearts with her performances, is making her much-awaited comeback to the small screen through Zee TV’s new show ‘Tumm Se Tumm Tak’. She will be seen playing the role of ‘Pushpa’, a middle-class woman with a strong spirit who finds sweetness in life even amidst struggles. She shares the screen with popular actors Sharad Kelkar and Niharika Chouksey in the show. In an exclusive interview with Mayapuri, Soma spoke about her character Pushpa, the story of the show, the meaning of love, and her experience working with Sharad Kelkar. • Your new show Tumm Se Tumm Tak is launching soon on Zee TV. What would you like to say about it?

This show is truly beautiful. When you watch it, you’ll feel like you’re watching a film. The set is so grand—I find myself admiring it often! The story is powerful and has everything—emotions, comedy, and depth.

• Your character ‘Pushpa’ is already creating buzz. What would you say about her?

Pushpa is a very interesting character. Just like the film Pushpa had a strong and colorful character, this Pushpa too has comedy, emotions, fights, struggles—and loads of love. I get to portray a wide range of emotions through this role.

• Was this role challenging for you to play?

Absolutely! Sometimes I have to do intense scenes, sometimes fight scenes, sometimes cry, sometimes argue over water on the street—and then go home to more drama! But in between all of this, there’s terrific comedy. Every day brings a new experience!

• You’ve always made people laugh with your comic timing. What new are you bringing this time?

This time too, I’ll do what I always do—with honesty and heart. In Pushpa, you’ll see the same energy and truth you’ve always seen in my work. It’ll make you laugh, but it will also touch your heart.

• The show also stars Sharad Kelkar, Niharika, and Vandana. How has your experience been working with them?

I haven’t had any scenes with Vandana ji yet, but I did have a beautiful scene with Sharad ji—just the two of us. We enjoyed it so much, I could barely stop laughing during the shoot. Now I just can’t wait to see it air!

• The title Tumm Se Tumm Tak is quite intriguing. What are your thoughts on it?

The title itself carries the whole story. There’s a mystery, a journey in it. It beautifully captures an age-gap love story. Why this gap exists, what it means—you’ll understand everything once you watch the show.

• What does love mean to you personally?

For me, love is life. I believe I was born to spread love. Whether on set or at home, when people smile at me or show love in their eyes—that’s my greatest joy. Even the street dogs rush to greet me when I get home! For me, love means me... and I am life itself.

• What would you like to say to your fans and viewers?

Just as you’ve always showered me with love in all my previous shows, please bless this one too. I promise that Tumm Se Tumm Tak will bring you loads of entertainment, a fresh flavor, and heartfelt emotions. Just keep watching and keep smiling!
