“Tapu Sena” reflects on the 17-year entertaining journey of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’

The long-running and much-loved comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah celebrated 17 successful years on Monday, 28 July 2025. On this milestone, the show’s younger cast members—popularly known as Tapu Sena—shared their reflections, which not only expressed their joy but also the emotional depth of this incredible journey.

Speaking about the 17-year journey, Tapu Sena shared that the experience has been filled with ups and downs, but every phase brought opportunities to learn and grow.

On this occasion, Nitish Bhaluni, who currently plays Tapu, said,“In this journey, I’ve experienced it both as a viewer and an actor. When I used to watch the show, it felt like such fun, but ever since I became a part of it, I realized that shooting is even more enjoyable than watching it.”

Khushi Mali, who plays the role of Sonu in the show, said,“We feel really lucky to be part of this show. Through it, we got the chance to work with many senior and talented artists.”

Dharmit Shah, who plays Goli, shared,

“From the moment I joined this show, it became the best part of my life. I never felt like an outsider. The entire team welcomed me like family.”

He further added, “There’s no discrimination between old and new cast members here. Everyone is treated with the same love and respect—and that is the biggest strength of the show.”

During this interaction, Tapu Sena also revealed that while the audience sees only 26 characters on-screen, in reality, they work with over 100 people every day. They said,“Spot dada, Nitin dada, DOP Aamir bhai—each person is a character in their own right. Without them, the show is incomplete. Everyone brings their unique energy, making the set come alive. The real strength of the show lies in this unity, which has helped it sustain for 17 years.”

In conclusion, the young cast said the show not only gave them a platform to act but also taught them the true meaning of relationships. “We’ve grown up here. We even learned how to vote here. This is not just a show—it’s our life.”
