Amidst the controversy, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a petition seeking to change the name of Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film "120 Bahadur." During the hearing, the court questioned the petitioner and reminded him that the film honors all 120 soldiers who fought in the historic Battle of Rezang La.

In fact, a petition seeking to change the name of "120 Bahadur" to "120 Veer Ahir" was heard in court on Monday, November 17, 2025. According to media reports, Chief Justice Sheel Nagu said, "Why are you so sensitive about what the film should be called? Should the film be called something or something? The bravery of the soldiers will be shown in that three-hour or two-and-a-half-hour film."

Meanwhile, lawyer Abhinav Sood, representing Excel Entertainment (the film's producer), also informed the court that both the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) and the Ministry of Defense have approved the film. He called the PIL premature and claimed it was based solely on a three-minute trailer. He also assured the court that all 120 soldiers would be mentioned in the film's credits and narrative.
