Whenever a film becomes a hit in Bollywood, a fear arises in the minds of the audience – will there be many films made on the same lines, which will repeat the story and style of the original film without any novelty? This fear is not baseless. It has happened many times in the industry before that after a successful film, many similar films were made which lack originality. Now, after the tremendous success of director Mohit Suri's musical romantic drama film 'Saiyaara', the same questions have started arising again.

After the success of 'Saiyaara', Anurag Basu's film is in discussion (Saiyaara Vs Aashiqui 3)

'Saiyaara'

The project that is making the most headlines these days is the film starring Kartik Aaryan and Srileela, directed by Anurag Basu. This film is considered to be the third installment of the 'Aashiqui' franchise. The interesting thing is that in this film too, the hero is a rockstar, as was shown in 'Saiyaara' and Mohit's 'Aashiqui 2'. In such a situation, it is natural for both films to be compared.

The recently released film 'Saiyaara', starring Ahan Pandey and Anit Paddha in lead roles, is the story of a young couple in which the girl suffers from a disease like Alzheimer's. Kartik's film also shows the emotional side of love for music and relationships. This led to speculation that Anurag Basu is rewriting the script of his film so that there are no similarities in the plot.

However, Anurag Basu has completely rejected these speculations. He said in an interview, "Mohit and I are very good friends. I am happy with the success of his film. The only common thing in both films is that the hero is a rockstar, and the story is based on his journey." He also said that Mohit had already told him the story of 'Saiyaara', in which the girl has Alzheimer's. Anurag clarified, "The story of my film is completely different. In that, the girl neither has Alzheimer's nor any other disease. We are not making any changes in the script, nor are we reshooting."

Interestingly, Mohit Suri had initially pitched 'Saiyaara' as 'Aashiqui 3', but the project could not move forward. After this, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Mukesh Bhatt of Special Films started a new film with Anurag Basu and Kartik Aaryan as 'Aashiqui 3'. But the dispute between Bhushan and Mukesh led to a legal dispute over the title of the film. The matter reached the Delhi High Court, where the court ruled in favor of Mukesh Bhatt and banned the film from being named 'Aashiqui 3'.
