The industry has become very toxic. Everyone is chasing unrealistic goals, trying to make the next Rs 500 or Rs 800 crore film. The creative environment is over".

Along with this, Anurag Kashyap further said, "People in Bollywood are jealous of South Indian filmmakers and directors because they can make films of their own free will and without any pressure. The atmosphere of creativity has ended in Bollywood." A source close to him said that Anurag has now left Mumbai and is living in Bangalore. However, he definitely told that the rent of the house he has shifted to has already been paid.

Earlier, while talking to Hollywood Reporter India, Anurag had revealed that he is jealous of South cinema. He said, "I am jealous of them (South filmmakers). Because now it has become very difficult for me to experiment. Because now one has to pay a price for it, so my producers now have to think about profit. They say 'Where is my margin? I am losing money. I say if you don't want to make this film, then don't make it, but I can't do that. Because now from the beginning, even before the film starts, the question arises how will we sell it? So now the fun of filmmaking is over. That's why I want to leave here. I am leaving Mumbai next year itself."

Anurag Kashyap's Workfront

Anurag is currently busy promoting the Malayalam film 'Footage', which he has produced. It stars Manju Warrier in the lead role. Although the film was released in August last year, now its Hindi version is going to be released on March 7. Talking about the film 'Footage', Anurag Kashyap said. "The Hema Committee report came at the time of the release of Footage. There was also a landslide in Wayanad in the year 2024. Looking at everything going on in the Malayalam film industry, we decided to release the film at the right time". Apart from this, Anurag is now going to focus on some new projects, including a Malayalam-Hindi film and a Tamil film. Anurag is also going to be seen in the South Indian film 'Dacoit'. The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu and stars Adivi Sesh and Mrinal Thakur in the lead roles.
