The idol of Lord Ram is going to be consecrated in the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya City on 22 January 2024, preparations for which are going on in full swing. On January 22, before the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur took part in the cleanliness campaign. Not only this, Anurag Thakur said during the cleanliness campaign that opposition parties should stop commenting on the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Anurag Thakur on Tuesday participated in the cleaning of the Hanuman temple complex in Connaught Place as part of the cleanliness drive launched by the BJP ahead of the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Opposition parties have alleged that the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have turned the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram temple into a political event.

While talking to some journalists as part of the cleanliness campaign, Anurag Thakur said, "There are some people who are unhappy with the construction of the temple, there are some who are unhappy with the consecration ceremony and then there are some who want to make a statement on this for their politics. I just want to say that they should stop commenting and giving statements on this. Ram temple in Ayodhya has been built after a wait of 500 years and in the coming days crores of people from all over the country and the world will come to see it."
