Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Arora, Somen Mishra and Pragati Deshmukh, co-produced by Marijke D'Souza, the film is a spiritual sequel to Dhadak which starred Janhvi and Ishaan Khatter. 'Dhadak 2' also stars Vipin Sharma, Manjiri Pupala, Diksha Joshi, Saurabh Sachdev and others in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 1.

Dhadak is a 2018 Hindi romantic film, which is a remake of the 2016 Marathi film, Sairat. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. It stars Ishan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor in the lead roles. It was released in theaters for the first time on 20 July 2018. Through this film, Karan Johar launched Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar in the Bollywood film industry.
