Dipika Kakar’s Cancer Surgery: Shoaib Ibrahim Shares Health Update, said ‘Part of Liver Removed with Tumor’

Dipika Kakar’s Cancer Surgery: Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim has shared an emotional health update on wife Dipika Kakar, who recently underwent a 14-hour-long surgery for Stage 2 Liver Cancer. Dipika, best known for Sasural Simar Ka, had revealed her diagnosis last month after a massive tumor — “the size of a tennis ball” — was found in her liver.

Dipika Kakar Moved Out of ICU After Major Surgery

In his YouTube vlog, Shoaib shared that Dipika is now out of the ICU and recovering in a hospital room. He said, “It’s Eid al-Adha tomorrow, and on this auspicious day, Dipika came out of ICU. I’m deeply thankful. She stayed in ICU for three days after the surgery, and her condition has steadily improved.”

Surgery Lasted 14 Hours, Doctors Removed Liver Tumor and Gallbladder

Shoaib revealed Dipika’s operation was more complex than expected: “She was admitted at 8:30 AM and came out of the OT by 11:30 PM. It was the longest and most critical surgery we've ever experienced. For hours, we had no updates — it was terrifying.”

Doctors discovered gallstones and removed her gallbladder along with a portion of her liver, where the cancerous tumor was located.

Liver Will Regenerate, Says Shoaib

Shoaib added that doctors assured them the liver is a self-regenerating organ and will heal over time. The key now is rest, medical monitoring, and care.
