After the attack, the actor talked about the incident in his interview. The actor said that he thinks it was a 'theft attempt that went wrong'.

Actually, Saif Ali Khan talked about the incident in an interview. The actor said, "Nothing will change. Look, if you start doing this because I don't think I am in danger. It was not a pre-planned attack. I think it was just a robbery attempt that went wrong. That poor guy's life is worse than my life."

Along with this, Saif Ali Khan further said that if he was in that room again with the intruder, would he have done anything differently. The actor said, "I would have turned on the light and first of all said to him, 'Do you know who I am?' And I think he would have said, 'Oh s**t! I'm in the wrong house.' And I would have said 'Okay, put the knife down and let's talk about this.' I think I would have tried to reason. But it was a mixture of anger, resentment and a kind of defense. It was very quick. And it was completely spontaneous."

It was told that at around 2 o'clock in the night, the actor heard a noise when one of his female employees was attacked in Jeh's room. Saif intervened, which led to a dispute between the two. The attacker stabbed Saif six times. Due to which Saif suffered serious injuries to his neck and spine. After this, Saif reached Lilavati Hospital by auto, where he underwent surgery and treatment. However, Saif Ali Khan was discharged on January 21 and is recovering. Mumbai Police is investigating the case and has detained a Bangladeshi man named Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad. Saif was discharged from the hospital on January 21, when he was seen walking into the premises of his Bandra residence with bandages on his wrists and neck. He made his first public appearance since the attack a few days ago, when he promoted his upcoming Netflix film - Jewel Thief.
