IC 814's 'Chief' Rajiv Thakur gave the credit of success to Kapil Sharma

Rajiv Thakur, who was seen in Kapil Sharma's comedy show, recently impressed everyone with his negative role in the series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. In a recent interview, Rajiv Thakur revealed that Kapil Sharma postponed his US tour to accommodate his shooting schedule for the web series. Rajiv Thakur thanked Kapil and revealed how the comedian inspired him to do the Netflix show.

Rajiv Thakur thanked Kapil Sharma

During the interview, Rajiv Thakur told that he faced scheduling conflicts when he decided to shoot for Anubhav Sinha's series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. But it was Kapil Sharma who came forward to help him. Talking about this, he said, "It is all thanks to Kapil that I managed to do the show. In June last year, the series team had asked me for dates, which they already had for our US tour. That's why I refused, but when Kapil came to know about this, he encouraged me to take IC 814. He told me, 'You do the series, we will take the show forward'. And that's how our show was postponed till July. I had already promised him, so I would have refused the show, but he pushed me forward, and I am grateful to him for that. This is what true friends do, isn't it?" 

Kapil Sharma inspired Rajiv Thakur

Rajiv Thakur further revealed that the entire cast of Kapil Sharma's show motivates each other. He also revealed what was Archana Puran Singh's reaction when she finally saw the show. He said, "Archana ji was very happy, she said I deserved my dues for a long time. And when she saw the show, she also posted a long note about us. I remember Kapil also saw the show late at night after the shoot and immediately messaged Anubhav sir. He called me first thing the next morning and he looked very happy and proud. I think that makes me very happy."

Controversy over 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack'

Let us tell you that 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' was released on Netflix on 29 August. After the release of the series, people on social media started accusing the makers of tampering with facts. The names of the hijackers in the series were shown as "Shankar" and "Bhola", while some viewers accused the series of hiding the real identity of the terrorists and not showing their connection with Islamic extremist groups. After all this, hashtags like #BoycottNetflix and #BoycottBollywood started trending on social media. After which Netflix India Content Head Monica Shergill decided to make new changes in the web series.
