The film is just a few days away from release. Before its release, the film Emergency has already got into legal trouble. Yes, you heard it right, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Tuesday sent a legal notice to the makers of the film 'Emergency' starring Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut for allegedly 'misrepresenting' and 'distorting' the Sikhs. Notice sent to Kangana to remove the trailer of the film Let us tell you that Kangana Ranaut has received legal notice ahead of the release of her upcoming film Emergency. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has sent a notice to the makers of the film, including Kangana, asking them to remove the trailer released earlier this month. SGPC secretary Pratap Singh expressed his objection to the film and revealed that separate letters were also written to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and the Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification to ban Emergency. He accused Kangana Ranaut of hurting the sentiments of Sikhs and claimed that several "anti-Sikh scenes" surfaced after the release of the film's trailer. The legal notice asked the Sikh community to apologize in writing The legal notice states that radical Sikh preacher Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and anyone from the Sikh community never demanded 'Khalistan', hence the scenes depicting anti-Sikh sentiments should be removed from the film. The notice sent by SGPC legal advisor advocate Amanbir Singh Siali has asked the makers of the film, including Kangana Ranaut, to remove the trailer from public and social media platforms and tender a written apology to the Sikh community. The notice also demands the removal of all objectionable scenes from the film. The notice states that this is a deliberate character assassination of Sikhs all over the world, which is fabricating an anti-Sikh story on the basis of false propaganda by sidelining true historical facts, aimed at gaining political mileage for a selective political agenda. Objectionable scenes should be removed from the film The legal notice states, "At 2:30 minutes, a film character, presumably a leader of the Congress party, has a dialogue in the trailer, "You know what our party wants". Thereafter, in response to the dialogue, another Sikh character is heard saying, "Tohadi Party nu vote chahiye ne aate sanu chahiye hai Khalistan". Thereafter, in these scenes, a character in Sikh attire is shown shooting at people with assault rifles. There is no proof or evidence in history that proves that Bhindranwale said such words nor is there any such document in the entire Sikh religious/history". Emergency will release on 6 September 2024 Apart from Kangana, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade. While Shreyas Talpade will be seen playing the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher will be seen in the role of Jayaprakash Narayan. Late actor Satish Kaushik will also be seen in the role of former Deputy Prime Minister of India Jagjivan Ram. Emergency has been postponed several times and is now scheduled to release in theatres on September 6, 2024.
