Kangana's film did not get a certificate

A few days ago, Kangana Ranaut shared a video on her official X handle. In this video, Kangana said, "There are rumors that our film Emergency has received a censor certificate, but this is not the case. Although the film was initially approved, the certificate was withheld due to several threats, including death threats to the censor board members. We are facing pressure to omit important content such as Indira Gandhi's assassination, Bhindranwale, and Punjab riots. I find this situation very disturbing and I am saddened by the current state of our country".

There is a demand to ban the film

For your information, let us tell you that the controversy over the film Emergency started a few weeks ago when a 2.43-minute trailer was released on August 14. The trailer portrays Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, the leader of the separatist Khalistan movement, as a sly man who promised to bring voters to the Congress in exchange for a separate Sikh state. In response, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) sent a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, urging a ban on the screening of the film. The organization alleges that the trailer "misrepresents the Sikh community" and fears that the film "may incite hatred".
