Akshay Kumar is excited about the film

Expressing his excitement about playing the role of Lord Shiva, Akshay Kumar said, "At first I was not sure and I turned down the offer twice. But Vishnu's unwavering belief that I am the right person to bring Lord Shiva alive on the big screen in Indian cinema really convinced me. The story is powerful, deeply affecting and the film has turned out to be a visual masterpiece. I am honoured to be a part of this incredible journey."

Vishnu Manchu shared his thoughts about the film

Vishnu Manchu plays the lead character Kannappa in the film. Talking about his character, the actor said, "This film is not just a project for me. It is a personal journey. I am currently visiting all the Jyotirlingas across India. I have felt a deep, spiritual connection with the story of Kannappa. It is a story of unwavering faith and sacrifice that touches the soul. The film Kannappa will be released on 25 April 2025 

Apart from Prabhas and Akshay Kumar, Kannappa also stars Vishnu Manchu, Preeti Mukhundhan, Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on 25 April 2025. Directed by Mukesh Singh, the film is written by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav and Thota Prasad. The film has music by Mani Sharma and Stephen. It is being produced under the banner of Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.
