This one minute 39 second teaser challenges traditional formats with an unprecedented opening of 30 seconds - no scenes, no logos and no titles. Instead, it relies only on sound to immerse the audience in the chaos and horror of the massacre. The teaser begins with the pathetic screams of the victims and grieving families, echoing with words like "Please stop, for God's sake," "Shoot them" and "The doors are locked." The teaser also begins with a sinister disclaimer "These scenes are too horrific to show". Akshay Kumar says in the teaser "Don't forget you are still slaves of the British Empire".

Raghu Palat is the great-grandson of C Shankaran Nair and the story delves deep into this important chapter of Indian history. Kesari is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language war film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role and directed by Anurag Singh. It follows the events leading up to the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle fought in 1897 between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen. The film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role, while Parineeti Chopra, Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj, Jaspreet Singh, Vivek Saini and Vikram Kochhar play supporting roles. Made on a budget of approximately Rs 100 crore, the film collected Rs 155.70 crore at the box office.
