Ranbir Kapoor Left Kishore Kumar Biopic For Ramayana: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari's epic 'Ramayana'. He is playing the role of Lord Rama in this much-awaited film. Ranbir Kapoor's name was earlier associated with Kishore Kumar's biopic directed by Anurag Basu, but later reports said that the role was offered to Aamir Khan. Meanwhile, Anurag Basu has revealed the reason for choosing Ramayana instead of Kishore Kumar's biopic.

Let us tell you that during an interview, Anurag Basu talked about his desire to work with Ranbir Kapoor. He said, "Yes, I hope so. We both keep trying. It is not happening. He is also doing a lot of films. Ranbir had a 'tough choice' and he chose Ramayana instead of Kishore Kumar's biopic".

Continuing his point, Anurag Basu further said, "Ranbir had an option to choose in life, and honestly, it was really difficult for him to choose which one to do first, Kishore Kumar or Ramayana. It was a very difficult decision; in the end, he chose Ramayana, and I think it was the right decision." Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor have worked together in the 2012 film 'Barfi' and the 2017 film 'Jagga Jasoos'.

Aamir Khan was offered Kishore Kumar's biopic

Let us tell you that earlier there were reports that Anurag Basu has offered Kishore Kumar's biopic to Aamir Khan. It is reported that they have met four to five times so far to discuss the film, and the actor is very impressed with the director's vision for this biopic. On the other hand, when asked about Aamir Khan's name being considered for the film, Anurag Basu said, "No comment. Until everything is finalized and the contract is signed, I don't think I should say anything on this. There have been many ups and downs in this project. So, I am hoping that this time it happens and I go to the set with the story that I have been trying to tell for the last decade. So, I will not spoil it by talking about it".

The first part of 'Ramayana' will be released in the year 2026

For your information, let us tell you that apart from Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama in 'Ramayana', Sai Pallavi will play the role of Sita, while Yash has confirmed that he will play the role of the powerful Ravana. The film also stars Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Kajal Aggarwal in the role of Mandodari and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthra, Arun Govil and Indira Krishnan. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first installment of Ramayana is set for a grand release on Diwali 2026, with the sequel releasing on Diwali 2027.
