Actually, comedian Kunal Kamra's comment on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has put him in trouble.  For your information, let us tell you that Mumbai Police (political row in Mumbai) registered two FIRs on Monday, 24 March 2025, regarding the sarcasm of stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra on Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. One against the comedian and the other against the workers of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) who vandalized the studio where the show was organized.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police said in a statement that two crimes have been registered at Khar Police Station in connection with the Kunal Kamra case. He said that one case has been registered for derogatory remarks against the stand-up comedian and the second case has been registered against the people who vandalized Kunal Kamra's studio and hotel The Unicontinental. Police said that further investigation is going on in the case. Khar Police has registered FIR against 35 Shiv Sena workers in connection with the vandalism that took place yesterday.

In fact, on Sunday, a video of Kamra surfaced in which he is singing a song mocking Deputy CM Shinde. This angered the workers of the Shinde faction. Referring to the split factions of the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Kunal Kamra said that "one man" started this trend and used the word 'gaddar' (traitor) to describe that person.

While Kunal Kamra added before starting to sing a song, which seems to be his spin on a number from the film 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai'. The comedian said, “Thane ki rickshaw, grandmother on face, glasses in eyes… Thane ki rickshaw, grandmother on face, glasses in eyes… Ek Jhalak Dikhalaye Kabhi Guwahati Mein Chup Jaye… Meri Nazar Se Tum Dekhiye Gaddar Ujjwale… He is not a minister, he is a turncoat and what can be said… He pierces the hand of the one who eats from us… He may get more space in Fadnavis’ lap than ministry… He has got a bow and arrow, my father wants this…” Though the comedian did not name anyone, the reference of the above lines is quite clear for Shiv Sena supremo Eknath Shinde as the politician represents Thane assembly constituency of Maharashtra. Kunal Kamra said, “Yeh Rajneeti Hai Inki, Nepotism was to be ended, but someone’s father stole it.” It appears that he was referring to the Shiv Sena vs Shiv Sena dispute in which Eknath Shinde’s faction of the party had won.
