After extensive efforts of IMPPA including numerous letters and persistent follow-up with various Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Government authorities, we are pleased to announce the Maharashtra Governments decision of 16th March 2024, allowing the free shooting of films, documentaries, and advertisements on Government land in Maharashtra (excluding Dadasheb Phalke Chitranagari in Mumbai and the Film City in Kolhapur) which will undoubtedly support the growth of the film industry in the State.

Maharashtra Film Office: Single Window Scheme Launched

In order to facilitate a seamless experience, a Single Window Scheme has been launched at the Maharashtra Film Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation, Goregaon, Mumbai, streamlining the administrative process for producers. According to the revised ruling, the shooting will be free of charge, however, a nominal security deposit of Rs 40,000 for advertisements, Rs 1 lakh for TV serials, and Rs 2.5 lakh for films is required.

The streamlined clearance process and the provision of free filming facilities make Maharashtra a more attractive destination for filmmakers and IMPPA which has been actively advocating for measures that support and promote the film industry,  expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Maharashtra government for this progressive initiative.
