Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to Mumbai, fueled the rumors of a comeback in films, saying that she is not planning to return to films but wants to follow the spiritual path. After this, the actress became a member of the Kinnar Akhara during the Maha Kumbh and performed rituals, after which she received the title of Mahamandleshwar.
expelled from the post
However, now just a week later, the founder of the Akhada, Rishi Ajay Das, has expelled actress and popular social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from their posts. On Friday, Das released an official press statement regarding the removal of both members, which was shared by several reports, in which he said, "As the founder of Kinnar Akhada, I am relieving Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from the post of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhada with immediate effect. He was appointed with the goal of promoting religious activities and upliftment of the transgender community, but he has turned away from these responsibilities."
Furthermore, he also expressed his anger over the matter and told PTI, "This is not a Bigg Boss show that you do this during Maha Kumbh and then do not do any work for three years... Both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi will be removed from their posts." He also talked about the allegations of the actress being involved in a drug cartel and said, "A person like Mamta Kulkarni, who has allegations of being involved in anti-national activities, was suddenly brought here and without 'sanyas', she was directly anointed as Mahamandaleshwar. This is not right. So, I am taking action against her."
On the other hand, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi defended his actions and claimed to have taken action against Das. Defending the actress, he insisted that all charges against her were later dropped by the court. In a statement to ANI, Tripathi said, "We expelled Ajay Das in 2017. After this, he chose a householder's life and misused the funds of the Kinnar Akhara during the 2016 Ujjain Kumbh. In the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh, our Akhara officially allied with the Juna Akhara and we accepted Mahant Hari Giri as our guru."
