Manisha Koirala said this about Shahrukh Khan
In fact, during her recent conversation, Manisha Koirala said, "I was supposed to do a film with Ram Gopal Varma, and then this came to my mind. He had other people in mind, and this came to my mind later. As an artist, I wanted to explore areas that I had never explored before. So when Mani Ratnam said that I would play the role of a terrorist, he also made it clear that he did not want me to play this character in a typical way. I had to be like a normal girl, but still show her pain and anger beyond logic."
'I have always played sweet and good characters'- Manisha Koirala
Continuing her talk, Manisha further said, "As an actor, for me, it was a great opportunity to explore the negative side of the character. I have always played sweet and good characters, but this was different. It was not the norm and I liked it." She also revealed that the original script that was agreed upon had a different ending and it was changed at the last minute. She said, "The original script that we had agreed upon had a bigger motive than love for both the characters. In the original version, he lets her die, and that was acceptable to all of us, but they changed it at the last minute."

Manisha Koirala further added, "In the final version, everyone was trying to achieve that his love for her is very deep, and at the same time he cannot allow her to do that, nor live without her. He stops her but dies in it, they were trying to show it as his big sacrifice, it wasn't like that in the original script. At that time I only liked the original because there was no way they could be together. Sometimes one-sided love is more interesting than a full-fledged love story."
