Actor Meghan Jadhav, who is a part of the show Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, says she immediately felt nostalgic when she heard the title. He further said that he was thrilled to remember Aamir Khan's track of the same name. Meghan plays the role of Chirag in Mrinal Abhigyan Jha Productions (MAJ).
Meghan Jadhav: Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak has been a part of my childhood
“Like me, anyone born in the 90s knows about the iconic Aamir Khan film. I grew up watching that film and listening to the songs. So, the title of the song, 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' has been a part of my childhood. And when I found out that they were making a show with the same name, I immediately felt a little nostalgic about the show. When I was told the story of this show, I was happy to know that it involves reincarnation. As a film lover, I was happy to know that the pair would be coming together again. But bringing some of those elements to the show for a new age audience was very unique.
Talking about how special this show is, she says, “In almost two decades of my career, I have played mainly positive roles. And this time the team contacted me for the negative lead. This role came to me at a time when I was really hoping to do something different. And grey-shaded roles are very unique, so I was immediately drawn to it. In fact, now I am more prepared to play the role of the antagonist as well.”
His character is also very close to his heart. “Chirag is basically the most interesting character of the show. Due to his childhood trauma, his agenda is clear and he wants revenge. Therefore, he will do anything to destroy Raj's family despite it being his own blood. He is not bad but he wants justice for his widowed mother and he is only fighting for his birthright. In fact, I am the complete opposite of this character. So, there is nothing that I can connect with the role,” he says.
The show has completed 50 episodes and every day has been special for the actor. “We did a lot of outdoor shooting for the show. So I remember shooting at a remote location in Mahabaleshwar. But the place is full of mountains so it was a night outdoor time and the car driver mistakenly took us to a different mountain. There was no GPS or network working so I remember after a long struggle I reached the right place. After all, we shot there all night in the cold winter. And the scene was like a car chase. So, looking at all the aspects, it was not an easy scene to shoot in those conditions, but it was definitely memorable,” he says.
He also likes his bond with the rest of the team. “Since I have worked with most of my co-stars in previous shows, the bond has always been great. Karam is like someone I can talk to all day about almost everything from movies to sports. So, we have a very good camaraderie. Along with the fun part, I would say that everyone is professional and wants to make a good project out of it, so the atmosphere is good when everyone shares a common goal.
Talking about working with MAJ Productions, he says, “This is my first opportunity to work with these two and every scene I have shot so far is very different from what I have seen before. . This shows that he is a visionary creator.”
