After receiving the award, Mithun also told about his journey. Mithun Chakraborty said, "Earlier I used to complain a lot to God, now I have no complaints. God has returned everything including interest". He said, "When I got the National Award, I started thinking of myself as Al Pacino, then I got shocked and I came to my senses. I had to listen to a lot of things because of my complexion. It was said that this dark complexion will not work in Bollywood. I used to think what should I do, I used to say to God, O God, what should I do with this complexion, I cannot change it. So I thought I would dance with my feet, I danced with my feet in such a way that people did not even notice my feet. From that day I became a sexy, dark, Bengali Babu. I used to complain a lot to God. But today after getting this award, I have stopped complaining. I just thanked him. I would tell new people not to lose courage, and never stop dreaming. Sleep yourself but never let your dreams sleep. If I can become something, then you can also become something".
