While studying direction he decided to work with Shahrukh

During an interview, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani said that when he was studying at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), he had decided to work with Shahrukh Khan and it took him so long to work with the actor. He said, “I remember I used to study in a film school and the real struggle for any filmmaker was how to make our first film. Will we find an investor? Will any actor come on board? So we had a common room where all the students watched television together. I remember watching this series called 'Circus' and I clearly remember the scene, including the camera angle, where an actor was performing and giving a speech."

By then Shahrukh Khan had become a star

He further said, “I didn't know who he was but I liked his performance. I told myself that after leaving school I would contact him and make a film. “It took me two years to graduate from the film institute and by that time, Shahrukh Khan had become a big star. So, I had to wait for 20 years to work with him on a film.

Called Shahrukh Khan a better person

When asked how Shahrukh Khan is different from other actors with whom he has worked before, the '3 Idiots' director said, “I was mesmerized by his charm. When he was giving shots, I used to wear a mask over my eyes and earplugs as well. Once he would finish the shot, my assistant would say to me, 'Sir, the shot is finished,' and then I would open my eyes. All joking aside, he is an amazing actor and an even better human being."

Not worried about the film 'Dunki'

For information, let us tell you that Rajkumar Hirani has directed five films before 'Dunki' and all these films have achieved huge success at the box office. However, the producer of the film is not at all worried about the outcome of 'Dunki' “This is the first film in which a director does not feel pressure. It is an achievement when a director completes and releases his first film. There is always pressure for success but I never succumbed to it. I never follow any trend because I think it's a trap. My idea is still to entertain the audience and make films that we believe in."
