Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: Recently, a controversy has arisen after objectionable remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in an episode of the YouTube show 'India's Got Latent'. Following the incident, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav demanding a ban on the show and legal action against its makers.

AICWA Demands Ban on 'India's Got Latent' Over Content

In its letter, AICWA has alleged that the show 'India's Got Latent' has "crossed all moral and social limits" and is promoting "objectionable and offensive content", which is harmful to Indian society. To ban Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take strict action against Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani and others. Following Ranveer Allahabadia's comment, social media witnessed widespread outrage. Netizens tagged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and demanded its attention on the issue. Many users criticised the content of the show, terming it "not comedy, just filth".

''India's Got Latent'' is an Indian Hindi-language talent show, launched by stand-up comedian Samay Raina on his YouTube channel on 14 June 2024. The show provides a platform to hidden talents from different parts of India, where contestants perform singing, dancing, magic, comedy and other arts. A feature of the show is that contestants rate themselves before each performance. If the average rating given by the judges matches the contestant's self-rating, the contestant wins.
