In a recent conversation with Zoom, Suniel Shetty admitted that his daughter Athiya keeps an eye on his statements and sometimes scolds him. Suniel said, "I avoid controversial questions during promotions. I am a person who wants to answer, but sometimes I say the opposite. Then at home, Athiya says - 'Papa, why did you talk? Just say it - no comment!' She tracks every interview, and to be honest, I fear her the most." He further said, "Having a daughter is the biggest blessing for any man."

In an interview to the media, Suniel said, "Marriage becomes a compromise after a while. The husband will also help, but nowadays there is a lot of pressure in everything." This idea was described as conservative and sexist. Many people called Suniel an "outdated thinking person" on social media.
