Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor is going through a very emotional phase these days. Her ex-husband, and famous businessman, Sunjay Kapur, died suddenly in London on 12 June 2025. According to reports, Sunjay Kapur died due to a rare incident – a bee got stuck in his throat while playing polo, which caused him to have an asthma-like attack, and later he died of a heart attack.

Ever since the news of Sunjay Kapur's death was heard, the Kapoors and the Kapoor family have been in mourning. Karisma Kapoor left for Delhi on June 19 with her two children, Samaira and Kian, where Sunjay Kapur's last rites were performed at the Lodhi Road crematorium. In a video that went viral on social media, Karisma was seen with her children in white clothes, wearing glasses, and she looked very calm and sad. She did not talk to the media.

Sunjay Kapur, who was considered a close friend of Prince William, suddenly became uncomfortable while playing during a match at the Guards Polo Club in London on June 12. According to reports, he swallowed a bee, which caused swelling in his throat and he started having trouble breathing. He immediately left the field, leaving the game, but shortly after, he suffered a heart attack and died on the spot.

On June 18, the Kapoor family issued a press note stating that Sunjay Kapur's last rites will be performed on June 19, 2025, at Lodhi Road crematorium in Delhi. Also, a prayer meeting will be held at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi from 4 pm to 5 pm on June 22. The note also carried a line from Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Gurmukhi along with Sunjay Kapur's photo.

Sunjay Kapur was first married to Karisma Kapoor, with whom he has two children - Samaira and Kiaan. Later, he married Priya Sachdev, with whom he has a son, Azaarius, and a stepdaughter, Saifra. The names of all these children and both his wives were included in the funeral notice. Sunjay Kapur was not only a businessman but also a polo player and patron of a polo team called 'Aures'. His demise is a big loss not only for his family but also for the sports and business world.
