Super-hit ‘12th Fail’ completes ‘Silver Jubilee’ (25 weeks )--- will soon be released in China ! Vidhu Vinod Chopra next BTS movie title ‘Zero Se Restart’ ! by Chaitanya Padukone

Excellent natural star-actor Vikrant Massey's film '12th Fail' has achieved an impressive feat, becoming the first film in 23 years to complete a 25-week run in theatres. This milestone, known as a ‘silver jubilee’ in Bollywood signifies exceptional long-running audience reception and enduring popularity.

Model-actor Vikrant Massey ( of ‘Haseen Dilruba’ Netflix 2021 original movie fame) who celebrated his birthday on April 3rd, took to social media to express his gratitude, sharing a special poster commemorating the occasion. "First film in 23 years to achieve this milestone," he wrote. "Thank you audiences for making our dream come true. YOU truly are responsible for making this happen ."

12th Fail inspired by the exemplary real-life success story of genius IPS Officer Manoj Kumar ( currently IGP of Maharashtra State)—the film released in October 2023.

Genius film-maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail turned out to be among the most successful films of 2023 and has reportedly earned nearly Rs 70 crores Worldwide,   against a modest budget of only Rs 20 crores.   it is now getting ready for a wide release in China which will surely increase its profits. In a recent interview, actor Vikrant Massey, who plays the lead role in the film, shared that the film will release on 20,000 screens in China.

“It has been in the works for a few months, but finally the news is out, and everyone knows that the film is releasing in China. There is a huge demand for Hindi cinema or Indian cinema in China. There are more than 20,000 screens [given to 12th Fail]. China really caters to the entertainment sector and hence the numbers [of screens],” he told India Today.

When asked if Vikrant would visit China to promote the film, the actor said, “It is too soon to talk about that, but I am really excited because, after a long time, something like this has happened.” 12th Fail despite its initial limited theatres release managed to make Rs 56.75 crore in the domestic market, as per Bollywood Hungama. On its opening day, the film had approximately 1,347 shows across India, as per Sacnilk. Given its modest budget , this was seen as a mega-success for the film. Shortly after, the film released on streaming platform Hot-Star and received loads of appreciation on social media. 25 weeks after its theatrical release

Films like  Caravan, Dangal, Secret Superstar and PK have done incredible business in China in the past. As per statistical records data Dangal earned $196.89 million, Secret Superstar made $118.24 million and PK earned $116.6 million when they released in China.

Famous producer-director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who is currently enjoying the success of 12th Fail, has now announced his next film, titled Zero Se Restart. The upcoming film will focus on the behind-the-scenes journey of the making of the superhit film 12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar. The film is expected to showcase the process of how it was made and how the actors pulled off their performances. The film will be produced under the banner of Vinod Chopra Films and is all set to release worldwide on July 19 2024

. Zero Se Restart will be a phenomenal moment in the history of Indian cinema where a full-length feature film will be made on the making of a project. The audience will get a glimpse of the rare insights from the project. Talking about Zero Se Restart,  the outspoken Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “The film Zero Se Restart narrates the journey of 12th Fail, right from its inception to all the hurdles that came in its way, from no one believing in the film to the team even being advised against a theatrical release. The announcement of Zero Se Restart was made on the social media platform Instagram through the official handle of Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films. In the caption of the poster, the makers revealed that VVC Films has always followed the motto of the 3-E’s, which is to Entertain, Educate, and Elevate.

Meanwhile  film-maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is emotionally nostalgic that  his  classic multiple Filmfare Awards winning landmark movie ‘1942 –A Love  Story’  ( 1994) starring Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor with memorable music by legendary genius composer R D Burman ( Pancham-da) completes 30 years of its release this year (2024)
