Ullu App Row: Former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan has landed in serious trouble over his reality show House Arrest, which aired on the Ullu app. The show has stirred a major controversy on social media for allegedly promoting vulgar and explicit content. Amid growing public outrage, the Mumbai Police has now registered a case against Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others involved with the show.
The FIR has been filed following a complaint by Gautam Rawariya, a member of the Bajrang Dal, who raised concerns over the obscene portrayal of women and sexually suggestive content in the show.
Bajrang Dal Activist Files Complaint Against Ajaz Khan and Producer
Gautam Rawariya, a known Bajrang Dal activist, filed the complaint at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. A police officer confirmed that based on his complaint, a case has been registered against actor-host Ajaz Khan, House Arrest producer Rajkumar Pandey, and other associated individuals from the Ullu app. The complaint was triggered after a clip from the show went viral online, showing Ajaz Khan asking female participants to enact sexual positions, which led to outrage from various sections of society.
Multiple Charges Filed Under IPC, IT Act, and Women Protection Laws
According to the police, several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Information Technology (IT) Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act have been invoked against the accused. Gautam Rawariya mentioned in his complaint that he received numerous personal messages from viewers complaining about the show’s vulgar content. Many users also criticized the show's explicit scenes and dialogues, stating they are not suitable for public streaming.
Controversial Clip Goes Viral, Sparks Political and Social Backlash
In the now-viral video clip from one of the recently streamed episodes, Ajaz Khan is seen asking a female contestant about her knowledge of sexual positions. When the contestant hesitates and appears uncomfortable, Khan calls upon two other participants to demonstrate some positions for her understanding. The segment was loaded with provocative comments and suggestive visuals, sparking intense backlash online.
The clip drew sharp criticism from social media users and political leaders alike. Many called it degrading, especially towards women, and accused the show of crossing moral and ethical boundaries. Prominent BJP MLC Chitra Wagh also condemned the show and demanded an immediate ban on it. She stated that such content is harmful to society, especially to children and young audiences.

Following the uproar, reports confirmed that the Ullu app has removed the show House Arrest from its platform. This came just hours after the National Commission for Women (NCW) issued a summons to Ajaz Khan and Ullu CEO Vibhu Agarwal over the controversial video. The NCW criticized the platform for promoting obscenity and violating the principle of consent.
Final Thoughts
The House Arrest controversy has once again reignited the debate around digital content regulation in India. With OTT platforms operating with minimal censorship, questions are being raised about the responsibility of content creators and hosting platforms in ensuring respectful, consent-based, and age-appropriate programming.
As legal proceedings continue, the incident serves as a wake-up call for streaming services to uphold content standards and remain sensitive to societal ethics and legal norms.
