Continuing his talk, Vijay Sethupathi further said, "We have complained about cyber crime. For seven years, I have been facing various kinds of whisper campaigns. Such attacks have not affected me till now. And they never will".

In fact, a woman named Ramya Mohan had accused Vijay Sethupathi on her ex account, which has now been deleted. It detailed that a young woman is undergoing rehabilitation after being molested and exploited under the guise of industry norms. In the post, she wrote, "Vijay Sethupathi has offered Rs 2 lakh for 'Caravan' and Rs 50 thousand for 'Drive' and behaves like a saint on social media." Although no names or timelines of the incidents were mentioned, the post ended with, "It's crazy how some insensitive fools focus more on questioning the source or blaming the victim rather than accepting the truth... this was her life, this was her pain."
