After this, Ed Sheeran broke his silence on this and wrote, "We had permission to busk, so we were playing at the same place, it was already planned, we were not just coming like that. Everything is fine though. See you at the show tonight".

However, Bengaluru police have confirmed that permission was not given for Ed Sheeran's street performance. According to an ANI report, an official said that Church Street is often heavily crowded and the decision was taken to prevent any potential problems. DCP Central Bengaluru, Shekhar T Tekkannavar said, "One of the members of the event organisers came to meet me to seek permission for a streetside performance on Church Street. I refused to give permission as Church Street is very crowded. That is why he was asked to vacate the place."

For your information, let us tell you that Ed Sheeran arrived in front of MG Road Metro Station on Church Street, where two microphones and a guitar were placed to perform. According to a video circulated on social media, as soon as the singer started performing an unplugged version of his popular track 'Shape of You', a police officer came and disconnected the speaker, stopping his performance. According to the report, the police had also received a complaint of public nuisance against the singer. The video was well received online. A Reddit user commented, "Hahaha one of those 'only in India' moments." Another user shared, "This is so embarrassing".
