Ravana's Floating Stones: Illusion or Divine Art?
Shailesh Lodha says, "When Lord Ram attacked Lanka and when the time came to build a bridge on the sea, two monkeys named Nal and Neel used to pick up stones and Shri Ram wrote on them and leave them in the sea and that stone started floating on the water. When this news reached Lanka, there was an outcry among the people, they thought that the king who attacked us was an illusionist, the stones in his name were floating and we would die. Ravana said, don't worry, come to the seashore, I will show you too. Ravana took everyone, picked up a stone on which he wrote Ravana, and threw that stone in water and that stone also started floating. The public was very happy that our king also knew art and went to sleep. At night Mandodari asked a question in the bedroom. That is, O my dear Lord! I know you can't make a stone float in water, then how did you do it? Ravana said I have picked up the stone, wrote Ravana on that, left it in the water, and said swear on Shri Ram that you will not drown.
