Safed, that tells the story of love blooming between a widow and a transgender, has triggered off a controversy in certain conservative nations and the authorities have called for a prohibition on streaming of the film as per their LGBTQ guidelines.
Filmmaker Sandeep Singh's Safed Sparks Off Controversy
Citizens who wanted to access Safed on its official streaming platform Zee5 were in for a shock when they just couldn't view it.
Filmmaker Sandeep Singh, who makes a debut as a director with this film said, "I feel sad when my film, which is showing reality and giving voice to a certain section of people ignored by society, being suppressed just because you have the power. Let the common people decide what they want to watch and not watch. Safed is a beautiful love story simply told. I don't why it's been banned in certain countries."
