The festival is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, known as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. Actress Jaya Bhattacharya, who plays Urmila in Sun Neo’s Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, shared her plans for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Jaya Bhattacharya shared, "Ganesh Chaturthi has always meant a lot to me. But these days, I feel like we’ve lost touch with that sense of community. Instead of celebrating together, it often becomes about noise and pollution, losing the festival’s original spirit. For me, Ganesh Ji represents knowledge and inner strength. The festival should bring people together, like Durga Puja does. We used to celebrate at our medical center for the first two years, but for the past three years, we’ve hosted it at home.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by MMahaLakshmi (@drmahalakshmimuthuraj) She further added, “At home, Ganesh Chaturthi is a more personal but still special celebration. My four adopted senior pets have been part of this tradition for the past three years, and this year we’ve welcomed a new senior dog named Lila. All the pets get along well, gathering around the Pooja area. The food, especially the rice modak, is so delicious that I indulge in it. It’s a time for togetherness with both family and our rescued animals, making the celebration even more meaningful.” Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya is a heartfelt family drama that follows Vaishnavi (played by Brinda Dahal), an orphan who reveres Chhathi Maiyya (portrayed by Devoleena Bhattacharjee) as her mother. The show celebrates the triumph of good over evil, emphasizing faith and devotion to Chhathi Maiyya, who protects and guides her worshippers through life. Tune in to Sun Neo to watch Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, airing every Monday to Saturday at 7 PM.
