Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi’s hit show Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly in the titular role, has become one of Indian television’s most iconic dramas. But for Rupali, the show is more than just a professional milestone—it’s a deeply personal journey filled with emotion, purpose, and gratitude.
“This dream wasn’t originally mine,” Rupali shares candidly. “I never imagined myself becoming a big actor or star. I just wanted to stand on stage like the people I admired, but I didn’t realize the hard work that goes into it.”
Rupali also shared a touching moment with producer Rajan Shahi, who had a clear vision for her from day one. “When I signed the contract for Anupamaa, Rajan ji told me, ‘Rupali, I want you to win every award there is.’ That kind of faith pushes you to give your all.”
Balancing her work and personal life hasn’t been easy, but she credits her husband’s constant support. “Yes, I miss my child. But Ashwin is there for him and for me, always.”
Despite her hectic schedule—waking up at 5:00 a.m. and sleeping post-midnight—Rupali never lets tiredness creep in. “When you get to stand in front of the camera and do what you love, there’s no space to feel tired. Every morning, I wake up with the energy to do good work.”
