Singh and Shail Jain disposed of the petition after the petitioner's lawyer said it would be fine if the film's title was not changed and all the names were added at the end of the film. The bench said, "However, since there is some confusion as to whether the names of all 120 soldiers have been mentioned, it is directed that the film be allowed to release in theatres across the country on Friday."

The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a charitable trust, the Samyukta Ahir Regiment Morcha, its trustees, and the families of several soldiers martyred in the Battle of Rezang La.
